"Honouring Métis Traditions, Sustaining Tomorrow's Adventure"

About Us

Rooted in Story. Inspired by the Land.

Founded in 2021 by proud Métis woman Erin Creegan-Dougherty, Maskwa Gourmet celebrates the intersection of food, culture, and education.

What began as a line of sustainable freeze-dried meals has evolved into a full culinary experience—offering Métis-inspired ready-to-serve meals and catering that tell the story of the ingredients, the land, and the people behind them. This evolution reflects Erin’s realization that, while she loves the outdoors, there’s a greater opportunity to support sustainable agriculture and share Métis history through education opportunities—delivered alongside ready-to-eat meals and catering.

Maskwa Gourmet champions Canadian sustainable agriculture—using locally grown ingredients and waste-smart practices—and blends traditional Métis foodways with modern convenience to offer meals and experiences that nourish both body and mind. Whether you’re hosting an event or simply want food that tells a story, our offerings bring meaning to every bite.

For corporate gatherings, educational events, or community celebrations, our meals are prepared for easy heat-and-serve convenience—letting hosts focus on connection and conversation while we focus on education, sustainability, and storytelling.

OUR LOGO

Our logo symbolizes the intertwining of Métis culture and sustainable food practices. In Cree culture, the bear ("maskwa") represents strength, resilience, and a deep connection to the land. Thus, our logo embodies the balance between respecting nature and sharing Indigenous cultural heritage through food, showcasing a commitment to sustainability, cultural preservation, and community support.
